The Czech Ministry of Industry and Trade has announced the second call for the Renewable Energy Sources – Wind Power Plants activity under the Operational Program Technology and Applications for Competitiveness (OP TAK). This call is specifically for the construction of wind power plants, offering up to 750 million Czech crowns (approximately 30 million euros) per company or project. Applications for support will be accepted from 28 June 2024 to 31 October 2025.
“We are far from utilising the full potential of wind energy for electricity production,” said the Minister of Industry and Trade, Jozef Síkela. “Wind power is one of the most cost-effective renewable sources and its development will enhance our energy security, better protect the environment and create new job opportunities in the regions. By 2030, we plan to increase the installed capacity of wind power plants up to five times.”
The maximum support is 65 per cent of eligible expenses for small businesses, 55 per cent for medium-sized businesses and 45 per cent for large businesses.
This new call aims to meet energy and climate goals in line with the EU directives on the promotion of energy from renewable sources. “We expect strong interest from entrepreneurs in implementing wind power projects. This will help increase self-sufficiency in electricity supply and achieve the Czech Republic’s climate and energy goals,” added Marian Piecha, senior director of the EU Funds Section.
