Azerbaijan and Türkiye extend natural gas supply deal up to 2030

Turkish Petroleum Pipeline Corporation (BOTAS), the State Oil Company of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) and Azerbaijan Gas Supply Company (AGSC) agreed on a natural gas supply deal, extending until the end of 2030 the agreement which was due to expire at the end of 2024.

BOTAS and SOCAR also signed four agreements on the delivery and exchange of natural gas.

“With the four agreements signed between BOTAS and SOCAR, Azerbaijani gas will be transported to Europe and Nakhchivan via Türkiye and Turkmenistan gas will be delivered to our country,” confirmed Alparslan Bayraktar, Türkiye’s Minister of Energy and Natural Resources. “We also signed the extension of the natural gas supply agreement between BOTAS and AGSC, which will expire this year, until the end of 2030. I hope these agreements will be beneficial for the two brotherly countries.”

During a meeting between Azerbaijan’s Minister of Energy Parviz Shahbazov and the Turkish delegation, it was therefore confirmed that the construction of the Igdir-Nakhchivan gas pipeline will be completed soon and Nakhchivan will be supplied with gas through Türkiye by the end of the year.
