Bulgartransgaz launches public procurement for Vertical Corridor initiative

The Management Board and the Supervisory Board of Bulgaria’s Transmission System Operator (TSO) Bulgartransgaz decided to carry out a public procurement related to the Vertical Corridor initiative launched together with other regional TSOs from Greece, Romania, Hungary, Slovakia, Ukraine and Moldova.

This public procurement is connected to the implementation of the projects for increasing the natural gas transmission capacity in the direction from Greece to Bulgaria at the Kulata/Sidirokastro interconnection point and in the direction from Bulgaria to Romania at the Negru Voda/Kardam interconnection point.

According to the company’s press statement, the expansion of the gas transmission infrastructure of Bulgartransgaz will allow achieving the goals of the Vertical Corridor for diversification and improving the security of supplies by transmitting additional natural gas quantities from South to North.

The estimated value of the public procurement is in the amount of 586,6 million levs (approximately 299,8 million euros) without VAT.
