The European Network of Transmission System Operators for Electricity (ENTSO-E) announced on Wednesday (28 February) that an agreement has been reached to increase the electricity trade capacity limit from Ukraine and Moldova to Continental Europe.

As agreed by the transmission system operators (TSOs) of Continental Europe, the limit is set to be increased to 550 megawatts (MW), based on system security and stability simulations, reflecting an increase of 150 MW from the previous limit.

This value will be offered to the market as of 1st March 2024, ENTSO-E said in a press release.

Since June 2022, the TSOs of Continental Europe have regularly increased the capacity which is available for electricity trading with Ukraine and Moldova, taking into account the stability of the power system and security considerations.
