Slovakia’s Ministry of Economy has announced a new call within the Recovery and Resilience Plan for the production of green hydrogen. A total of 13.56 million euros will be allocated from the funds and each applicant can receive a contribution of a maximum of 4 million euros per project.

“Our effort and goal is to increase the flexibility of the electricity system in Slovakia and at the same time to ensure a higher integration of renewable energy sources in our infrastructure and industry,” said Denisa Saková, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy. “What is important is that the aid provided will be non-refundable for all entities in the whole of Slovakia, with support of up to 70 per cent of the total eligible costs.”

Other evaluation criteria will be the volume of the storage tank for the produced hydrogen and the readiness of the project. An equally important factor is the guarantee of environmental sustainability in accordance with the principle of “do not significantly harm”. Applications can be submitted until 30 July 30 2024.
